Virtual accounting focuses on utilizing web-based tools to work more efficiently. Instead of carving out portions of your day to discuss your accounting needs, virtual accounting allows me to compile your information without interrupting your day and when it is convenient to you. Through the use of remote access, file transfer and email, together we work to tackle the accounting tasks you prefer to outsource.
How can “virtual” accounting help me?
Virtual accounting allows you to focus on what’s important – your business. No more inconvenient meetings. No more worrying about accurate financial statements. With virtual accounting, your accounts are up to date and accessible at any time. The turn around time from when you send the information to me to when your financial statements are available is quick. Since we don’t have to wait to meet or find a time that I can come to your office, your information is compiled quickly and at your convenience.
Can I schedule a meeting when I have questions?
Absolutely! Part of my service is getting to know my clients. Our first meeting will always be in person so that you can get to know me and I can find out more about your business and unique needs. In the future if there are items you would rather discuss in person, I will be more than happy to arrange a meeting.
Does remote access cost me extra?
No, there is more than one technical solution to virtual accounting. One method is through file transfer. This is where we exchange a backup copy of your file. I will make changes and return the file to you. This method requires more time and does not allow you to make changes until you receive the updated file. A second method is the use of remote access. Through the use of LogMeIn.com or GoToMyPC.com, you provide me with secure access to your computer’s files and applications. From the convenience of a web browser, I work with a remote computer as if I was sitting right in front of it. Both of these providers offer a free version of their software or you can add features for a fee.
Why do you recommend QuickBooks?
Finding the right accountant is like finding the right doctor or lawyer. Every accountant has a specialty and I have made QuickBooks my specialty. With my experience, we can customize your invoices, statements, chart of accounts and reports. This allows you to present your business to your customers in your way.
Do you offer discounts on QuickBooks software?
Yes, as an Intuit authorized affiliate I can offer you substantial discounts on the entire QuickBooks product line including personal Quicken products. This includes software, checks, envelopes and other supplies. By purchasing through my website, you have access to savings that you will not find even by purchasing directly from QuickBooks’ website. Do you offer training on QuickBooks?
Yes, if you prefer to continue to handle your own accounting needs, I will be happy to help you get started. I also provide training and consulting on an as needed basis at an hourly rate.
What if I just need help fixing things?
Sometimes your accounting just gets out of hand. You put it off and fall behind or you made an error along the way and you’re not sure how to fix it. I
can help. I will review your file and make any necessary corrections or just catch you up. All of this is available at an affordable hourly rate.
What if I don't live in southeastern Wisconsin?
While I prefer to meet my clients during the consultation to introduce myself and get to know their business and needs, it isn't required. The advantage of virtual accounting is that I can provide services for anyone through remote access. Contact me to discuss your options.
What are your rates?
Every business is different and the level of support you need will determine my rate. Set up and one-on-one training is available for at an hourly rate.
Occasional review of your accounting information is generally billed at a lower hourly rate. Your most economical solution is an ongoing monthly support plan. Together we determine a level of support that is appropriate for your needs.
Payroll services are based on the number of employees and have predetermined rates. These services are not included in a monthly support plan.
